Q1. In the Sericulture industry do which stages of silkworms do weavers buy? Why do they do so?

 Ans: Most of the people in the Sericulture industry buy silkworms at the cocoon stage. The fiber in the cocoon is reeled and twisted to make threads.

Q2. Which place in Telangana state is called Silk city?
Ans: Pochampally.

Q3. Prepare a chart showing the life cycle of the silkworm and display that in the classroom.

1. Eggs or Seeds

Q4.Why are cocoons stifled?
Ans: The cocoons are stifled to kill the PUPA inside the cocoon.

Q5. What will happen if cocoons are not stifled?
Ans:
If cocoons are not stifled the PUPA  inside the cocoon slowly grows into an adult moth and breaks or cuts the fine silk fiber on the cocoon and comes out of it. Then there will be no use of the broken fiber. 
So that the stifling process is necessary to get fine quality silk fiber.

Q6. What are the differences between the fleece of Angora Goat and Camel?
Ans:
Angora goat Fleece is very soft.
Camel's fleece is rough and coarse.

Q7. Make a flow chart showing various stages of the production of woolen fabrics.
Ans:
SHEARING---->SCOURING---->SORTING---->BLEACHING----->DYEING----->
COMBING / CARDING------->ROLLING AND TWISTING----->SPINNING------>WEAVING / KNITTING------>WOOLEN FABRIC.

Q8. In what way knitting is different from weaving.
Ans: The main difference between Knitting and Weaving is as follows...

3.      Single yarn is used.

1.   Fabric is made by parallel and criss-cross pattern. 

2.      Warp and Weft present.

3.      Two set of yarns are used.
